Ten Thought Tuesday

Hey there!

From the looks of my calendar, it is Tuesday.

Ready to ride the random train?

Here we go:

10.  Randall's birthday is on Thursday. I wish I had the money to get him all the things that he wants. But I don't so he will have to settle for all my love and a nice birthday dinner.

9.  I also can not believe that CHRISTMAS is right around the freaking corner.

8.  I have done nothing.  NO SHOPPING whatsoever has been done.

7.  I am the queen of procrastination.  Pretty sure.

6.  Decorations haven't been put up yet either.  By the time they are put up it will be time for them to be taken down.

5.  Decorations are not my department.  In case you were wondering.

4.  It has been tradition that decorations get put up on Randall's birthday.  Not my tradition.  If it were up to me?  Decorations would have been put up on the first of December.  Whatever.

3.  Still plugging along trying to find a job. . .  So far I have heard nothing.

2.  Trying to stay positive but it's hard.

1.  Looking forward to the holiday season being over.  This is my least favorite time of year.

What about you?
What's your random?

Ten Thought Tuesday

Hey there people!

Today is ever loving Tuesday!

Also? This is a short week due to Thanksgiving being on Thursday.

But let's focus on today, shall we?

It is Tuesday.

My lovely day to throw the random at you.

Ready or not, here we go:

10. My period was kind enough to show itself on Sunday. Thanks for that Mother Nature.  I have had increasingly painful cramps since then. Awesome.

9.  I talked to my sister on Sunday.  We talked for almost 2 hours. TWO HOURS. I know she doesn't realize it, but in that time she made me feel guilty no less than five times.

8.  I also blame her for my period starting.  Because, obviously.

7.  I was actually surprised to hear from her. It had been well over a month since we had last spoke.

6.  She called to tell me that our step-dad was having surgery (today) for a pacemaker for his heart.  She also called to vent. And in the process make me feel bad.

5.  She is her mother's daughter.

4.  I am not even slightly prepared for Thanksgiving.  Apparently the MIL and I are going to tag team cooking turkey day dinner.  I am less than thrilled.

3.  I guarantee that I end up getting aggravated because she is somewhat control-ish in the kitchen.  She will end up doing EVERYTHING and I will end up being pissed off.

2.  Or things could go smoothly and all will be right with the world.  You never know.

1.  I started taking new meds for my diabetes. . .  And so far they seem to be working well.  My blood sugar has been staying relatively low. YAY! So there is some positive in all the negative that I'm swimming in.

How about you?
What's your random?

Ten Thought Tuesday

I see by the calendar hanging on the wall that it's Tuesday.

You know what Tuesday used to mean around these parts, right?

Random thoughts listed (usually in ten).

Oh, you remember now?

Thaaaaaat's right.

TEN THOUGHT TUESDAY!

I have not done one of these in eons and thought it might be time to resurrect it.

Are you ready?

Here we go:

10. Hurricane Sandy. The Frakenstorm. So much devastation up and down the east coast. I can do nothing but say a few prayers that everyone is able to survive the storm.

9. It is the day before Halloween . . . and we're still not really clear on what Kaylee is going to be. Talk about procrastination.

8.  If procrastination were a job, I would be the top-paid employee.  Hands down.

7.  Kaylee has been practicing almost every day after school for a Veteran's Day assembly for school.  The kids have been practicing marching. . .  And it has been said that they will be dressed up in marching outfits and everything.

6.  Also? There will be singing. Lots of singing.  I know this because Kaylee has been singing the national anthem NON-STOP.

5.  While I love my country AND my daughter. . .  I am not loving the national anthem being sung over and over and over again.

4.  I might be a curmudgeon.

3.  Being a curmudgeon might make finding and keeping a job hard.

2.  Oh yeah-- I am actively looking for a job.  Because we desperately need the extra money.

1.  I have a few applications in but so far, no bites.  Hopefully I can find something soon.  Keep your fingers crossed for me. Please?

What's your random?

Ten Thought Tuesday

Are you ready for some random?
I know you are just like you know you are. . .
Or something like that. Heh.
Here we go:

What's your random?
Make some posties and join me!

Ten Thought Tuesday

Hey there!

It's TUESDAY!  Which feels like Monday to me because Kaylee was home sick yesterday. . .

It is also the first day of SPRING!

Are you ready to ride the random train?

Here we go:

10.  It is the first day of spring.  Unfortunately, it is COLD and RAINY here.  Not SPRING-like at all.

9.  It's getting to be the time of year when I start bitching about the weather.  So be prepared.  Because I like to bitch.

8.  Kaylee has been letting me do her hair every morning before school ever since I stumbled across the website Cute Girls Hairstyles.

7.  Usually the night before I let her pick out a 'do and I try to recreate it the best that I can the next morning.  Sometimes it turns out good.  Sometimes?  Not so much.

6.  Our favorite 'do?  Is the No Heat Headband Curls.  But I have added my own unique twist to it.  I take each section of hair and twist it before I wrap it around the headband.  Makes it look more like a "'do" if you're going to wear it for a day and it also creates MORE curl.

5.  I tried my way on Kaylee last Thursday night so she could have curls Friday.  And OMG!  It turned out fantastic.  I loved it so much that I am trying it on my hair.  Yes, I am taking pictures and Yes, I will show you the results.  I know you can't wait.

4.  Kaylee was slightly embarrassed with my hair this morning as she seen it was wrapped around a headband.  "You're gonna wear your hood the WHOLE time you walk me to school, aren't you?"

3.  Normally?  I would have ignored her request and rocked the pre-curl 'do.  She was lucky that it's cold outside and rainy.  Or else I would have surely embarrassed her further.

2.  Sometimes?  This Mom thing is awesome.

1. I really wish it would warm up so that I can get out and get some exercise.  I've been thinking about walking for 30 minutes a day.  15 minutes out and 15 back.  I just need warmer, dryer weather.

How has your first day of spring been so far?

Ten Thought Tuesday: I Am My Own Rock

Hey there!

Tuesday sneaked up on me this week. . .

Ready to ride the random train?

Here we go:

10.  I am running on approximately ONE hour of sleep.  No one's fault but my own.  But maybe I can find a way to blame Randall for it.

9.  Kaylee reluctantly rode to school with the neighbor this morning.  There was a moment of tears before she walked out the door.  I believe she may suffer from separation anxiety.  There's probably a #MomFail in there somewhere.

8.  It snowed last night!  We ended up with about 2 inches.  Thankfully it should be completely gone by this afternoon. #fingerscrossed

7.  No clue why I am hashtagging some of these thoughts. . .

6.  I think I'm the only person left who hasn't changed over to the new timeline on Facebook.  I will hold out until it's absolutely mandatory.  I'm a rebel like that.

5.  I'm thrilled that we moved.  I'm not happy that we had to bring all of our baggage with us. #HiddenMeaning

4.  I've noticed that when I start to miss my family on the east coast, I crawl deeper inside myself.  I'm more withdrawn.  Quiet.  I don't like it but it's my way of protecting myself.

3.  Sometimes I don't feel as strong as what I've lead people to believe that I am.

2.  I try not to crack in front of Kaylee.

1.  I try not to crack in front of anyone.  But there are times that I need someone to be my rock so I can relax.  Sometimes?  I am my own rock.

Ten Thought Tuesday

Hi.

It is Tuesday.

And you know what that means, right?

I know, I know.  It's been forever and a day.  Just bear with me, k?

That's right!  I knew you wouldn't forget.

Are you ready for some genuine randomness as it can only come from my fried brain?

Here . . .

we . . .

go . . .

10.  My kid thinks I'm old.  I was slightly insulted as she informed me of this yesterday afternoon. But I just rolled with it.  I remember being little and thinking that 21 was old.

9.  There is an older lady who has crossing guard duty in the morning.  As I was on my way home from dropping Kaylee off this lady stopped me and asked if Kaylee was my sister.  I giggled a little and politely told her that no, she wasn't my sister but my daughter.

8.  She kinda had a shocked looked on her face.

7.  So apparently, I in fact, do not look as old as I feel. Score one for me!

6.  I actually think that's not a bad trait to have.  To look younger than what you are.  I can remember my Mom getting compliments like that when I was younger.  So I will take it and enjoy it for as long as I can.

5.  Kaylee seems to be settling into her new school nicely.  I am so thankful.  I was thinking that I might have to try my hand at homeschooling.

4.  I would home school in a heart beat if the situation was favorable for it.

3.  Although I think I would run out of patience.  I tip my hat to all the ladies out there who home school their kids.  You all are saints.

2.  Our next door neighbor has a nine year old boy who also attends Kaylee's school.  Last week I walked him to school.  This week?  She is supposed to drive the kids to school.  Hasn't happened yet.  Why do I feel like I might be getting used?

1.  I don't like confrontation so I already know that I won't be saying anything if she doesn't live up to her side of the deal.  I'm beginning to think that I wasn't meant to have actual 'real life' friends. . .

Would you say something or would you avoid the confrontation as well?

Ten Thought Tuesday

Hey. . .

Happy 2nd Tuesday of the year to you.

I hope that your 2012 has started out better than mine has.

But that's a story for a different day.

Today is TUESDAY!  {I know, I said that already}

And you know what that means around here.  Right?

RIGHT?

That's right.  Randomness as only I can deliver it.

Ready?

Here we go:

10.  This weekend sucked ass.  I hate when I fall into a funk and can not get out of it.  Bad things are always sure to follow.  And they did.

9.  For the past week, Kaylee has been using the alarm on her cell phone to wake up to.  Awesome that she is taking some responsibility about getting up in the morning.  Unfortunately?  She has discovered the snooze button.  It's only a matter of time before I will be waking her up again.  I just know it.

8.  I might just be a closet wrestling fan.  Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

7.  There's been lots of tension around these parts the last few days. . .  Makes things really uncomfortable.

6.  The thumb on my right hand is revolting against me.

5.  I have a stack of books just waiting for me to read them.  I?  Have no motivation.  None.  At all.  Really.

4.  I need to make some changes.  I just don't know where to begin.

3.  I like clipping coupons to save money but, I just don't have the energy to clip them.  Plus I have a hard time finding coupons for things that we actually use.  #couponclippingfail

2.  I am not a drinker but sometimes think that I could be.

1.  I don't like confrontation but you better believe that if someone is messing with my family?  I will be the first one there defending them.

Ten Thought Tuesday: End of the Year Edition

It is the last Tuesday of 2011.

Thank God.

So freakin' happy to see this year go.  Although I say that every year.

This is the last TTT of the year.

Ready for the ride?

Here we go:

10.  Our Christmas went pretty well.  Kaylee got a couple of things that she really, really wanted.

9.  It warmed my heart to see her reaction when the package her cell phone was in started ringing.

8.  I am hoping and praying that 2012 is a better year.

7.  I also know that I am not the only one who feels that way.

6.  I don't make resolutions any more.  Actually stopped making those years ago.  It was the same thing every year. . .  Eventually you realize that you're not gonna keep them, so what's the point?

5.  Mmm chips and homemade french onion dip.  {sidetracked. . .  Heh}

4.  There are way too many reality TV shows on these days.

3.  Have I mentioned that I am looking forward to the new year?

I did?

Yeah.  Really ready for 2011 to hit the road.

2.  Maybe this year I can stop biting my nails.  <--The closest thing to a resolution that you will get from me.

1.  Happy New Year to everyone out there!  May your 2012 be the best year ever!

Ten Thought Tuesday: It's Really Random

Hey! Hey! Hey!

It's late Tuesday evening!

I am running late today.

Shit happens.

Ready to ride the random train?

Here we go:

10.  I hate grocery shopping.  It makes me really, really anxious.

9.  Randall and I are making chili for dinner tonight.  For me, him and Kaylee.  The in-laws are having hot dogs and CANNED chili because they "don't like" our chili.  Whatthefuckever.

8.  Sometimes you have to be the bigger person, put shit behind you and be the person who apologizes.  It's either that or suffer the silent treatment.

7.  I was the voice of reason last night.

6.  I need ink for my printer.

5.  Clueless about Christmas presents this year.

4.  Although we have a couple of ideas.

3.  No I'm not telling.

2.  Santa is watching and I don't want coal in my stocking.

1.  Everyday I get a random song stuck in my head.  So at odd times I will just start singing.  And it's usually only a line or two from the song.

The catchiest part.

Because I'm cool like that.

Heh.

How was your Tuesday?

Release the Krackens!!

Have I mentioned to you before my love of the twitter?

No?

Well, I do.  Love twitter.  Probably a little more than I should. . .

But we all have our faults. . .

Right?

Thought so.

Anyway. . .

Mostly, I am not a witty tweeter.

There are moments when something brilliantly random will escape from the tips of my fingers and cause someone to laugh.

They are few and far between but they do happen.

One of those moments happened last night. . .

I really do say this.  Honestly.

Randall laughs at me every time I do it.

What's really funny?  Are the times that I don't say it.  He says it for me.

Cracks me up every time.

Not long afterwards it got a RT {that's retweet for any of you non-twitter folks out there.}

And thus a conversation ensued. . .

So much giggling, people.

So.much.giggling.

Making someone laugh with a random tweet?  Totally made my night.

What's made you laugh recently?

Ten Thought Tuesday: What Are They Good For?

Hey there.

It's Tuesday.

Ready for the random ride?

Here we go:

10.  What are wisdom teeth good for?  They serve no purpose other than to cause you pain and agony.  Oh and give you a big dentist bill.

9.  With that being said, my jaw is swelled up.  From my wisdom teeth.

8.  Wish the tooth fairy would come rip this bastard from my head.  No need to leave me money, the relief from the pain will be enough.

7.  I have a "Women's Health" exam scheduled for today.  I am so excited! <-- Can you feel the sarcasm there?

6.  Maybe the pain in my jaw will distract me from the doctor being all up in my nether regions.

5.  Probably not.  But I can hope, can't I?

4.  Why does the doctor always tell you to relax and that you will only feel some slight discomfort?

3.  I have never felt slight discomfort.  Ever.  I have always felt pain.  That shit hurts.  I wish the doctor would just be truthful.  "This is gonna hurt like a son-of-a-bitch, so be prepared."

2.  That would be like me grabbing the doctor's balls and telling him that he will be experiencing some slight discomfort.  But then I might end up in jail.  And we don't want that.

1.  Have you ever felt like there are issues in your life that you really need to address but you don't want to because you are happy just pretending that everything is OK?  Yeah.  Me neither.

Ten Thought Tuesday: The Health Edition

I am running late today.

It's not my fault though.

Really.

OK, OK.  Maybe it is.

Either way, it's Tuesday and you know what that means around here.

Hop on board and lets go for a ride!

Ready?

Here we go!

10.  Had an appointment with my doctor today.  It was supposed to be follow up with my blood pressure and a follow up with some blood work that was done early last week.

9.  The blood work was a fasting blood work to check my blood sugar and to check my cholesterol.

8.  There is good news and bad news.

Wait.  I'm lying.

There's bad news and worse news.

7.  Bad news:  My blood sugar wasn't checked so I have to do that all over again.  Tomorrow.

6.  Worse news:  My cholesterol numbers are totally out of whack.  The good cholesterol is really low.  The bad is pretty high.  Although not bad enough for me to be put on meds.  I have to try and improve my numbers with diet and exercise.

5.  My blood pressure is still pretty high.  So I have also been put on a diuretic to help my body try to get rid of the unneeded salt and water.

4.  Pretty sure I will be peeing ALL THE TIME.  Thankyouverymuch!

3.  We found out yesterday that one of the in-laws cats has cancer.  Sunday night we noticed a little swelling on the top left of her jaw.  So Monday, Randall and FIL took her to the vet.

2.  They came home looking defeated.  Gave us the news.  MIL, Kaylee and myself have all cried on and off since.

1.  The vet gave FIL a few days worth of pain meds for the cat so that she can be comfortable.  But could not give a time frame as to when she might pass.  So they brought her home and we have all been loving on her as much as we can.

This is not my cat but I am completely heartbroken.  I have been around these cats for years and they have adopted me.  They are part of my family and I love them dearly.

We are worried about how the other cat will react when her sister passes.  I am hopeful that she will be OK.  The in-laws have been saying that they will get a kitten to help keep her company.  I'm not so sure that's a wise idea but, like I said, they are not my animals.

So I am sad and down about the cat and my health.

How was your Tuesday?

Ten Thought Tuesday: Stressed & Worried Edition

Hello and happy Tuesday to you.

Hoping that your week is going way better than mine is.

Are you ready for the ride that is my randomness?

Here we go:

10.  Randall went to the hospital Sunday night and was subsequently admitted.  Poor guy has an NG tube and is not allowed to eat or drink.  There is blood in his belly and they are not sure what is causing it.

9.  I am not sure how to process this information.

8.  I am exhausted.  Plain and simple.

7.  When I am nervous and worried??  I do one of two things.  I either clean or eat.  Last night, I chose to clean.  I did three loads of laundry and straightened up my room a little.

6.  I also spent some time playing with Kaylee.  She now knows how to braid her Barbie dolls' hair.

5.  I might be a tiny bit awesome.

4.  Today is picture day for Kaylee at school.  I think the school knows when I am seriously low on funds.  I wasn't able to buy the pack of pictures that I really wanted.  I am kinda bummed.

3.  I wish they would let you order the pictures and pay for them when they come in.  But I guess that could end up with a lot of waste.  Time, paper, etc., etc.

2.You have no clue how many times I have wished that it was me who was sick. . .  I would so rather it be me laying in the hospital than him.

1.  I am trying to be everyone's rock.  What happens when I start to crumble???

Ten Thought Tuesday

Hi.

It's Tuesday.

You know what that means.

Ready?

Here we go:

10.  Another week of being MIA.  I just haven't had the energy to blog or tweet.

9.  I had an appointment with a doctor last week.  I have high blood pressure.  And maybe other things wrong with me.  Blood tests were done.  Will know the results in a couple of weeks.

8.  Also?  I am shrinking.  I was under the impression that you didn't start shrinking until after menopause.  Boy was I wrong.

7.  I can tell that the BP meds are working.  I would get angry at the drop of a hat.  At little things.  Stupid things.  Now?  Not so much.

6.  A side effect of the meds?  Tingling scalp.  So I have the sensation that something is crawling through my hair.  Awesome.

5.  I may or may not randomly claw at my head throughout the day.  Again, awesome.

4.  Kaylee's costume choice this year?  A character from Monster High.  Am I the only one who is clueless as to what that is?

3.  I am not completely clueless.  But I just don't get it.  Also?  That choice is not set in stone.  I am trying to talk her into being a hospital patient again this year.  So far, she doesn't like that idea.

2.  My daughter makes me feel old.

1.  No, actually I don't feel old.  I know I am 33.  On the inside?  I still feel like a teenager.  I am hoping that is a good thing.  Heh.

Ten Thought Tuesday: MIA Edition

Hey there.

*waves frantically*

Remember me?

*sweeps out the dust bunnies and cob webs*

I was, uh, MIA last week.

But I am back now.

And it's Tuesday.

You know what that means.  Right?

Are you ready to ride the random train?

Here we go:

10.  As you are reading this, I am getting ready for a doctor's appointment today.

9.  I have a few issues going on that need addressing.

8.  I won't list them out here.  Those who know me well, know what my deal is.

7.  Randall and Kaylee both have appointments today too.

6.  It's Doctor Day here in my house.  Heh.

5.  I always feel weird when I take a vacation from blogging and then come back.  Everything always feels off to me.

4.  When I go MIA like that?  It means I have things going on to which I have no words.  Or at least no words at that moment.  Always know that I will be back.  I always come back.  Always.

3.  Sometimes I wonder what exactly I am blogging for.  Then I remember.  For my sanity.

2.  How much is too much to share?  Do you want to hear me bitch about the in-laws and about how they irritate the ever-loving hell out of me?  Do you want to hear me complain about the situation we are in?  Do you want me to talk about my stories from the past?

1.  I am seriously thinking about making some changes.  Like major changes.  Just not sure what exactly I want to change just yet.

Stick with me.  Things are bound to get interesting eventually.

Really.

Have You Seen It?

After running behind last week, I am making up for it this week.

Read that as I am writing it Monday night.  Because I am all organized and stuff.

Yeah.  You're not really buying that, are you?

Didn't think so.  But I am writing this Monday night.  So there's that.

Ready for the Tuesday norm?

Here we go:

10.  Looks like the rainy season has started.  You will probably think I am weird, but I like the rain.  So I am actually kinda happy.

9.  I have started clipping coupons.  Randall thinks I am a little nuts.  I think he is scared that I am gonna go all 'Extreme Couponer' on him.

8.  I don't want to be like that.  I just want to save a money on the groceries we buy every month.

7.  With printing out coupons, I am trying to be organized about it.  So I have a folder that holds my papers that I have printed out.  We will see how long this system lasts.

6.  Yeah.  Not really a system.  How about. . .  We'll see how long I will actually print out the coupons and remember to use them, lasts.

5.  Anyone wanna place some bets?

Takers?

Anyone?

*crickets*

Didn't think so.

4.  I have semi-organized my computer desk.  I stress semi-organized.  Because I don't think I have ever truly been organized.

3.  I love being a parent.  There are just some days that it exhausts me more than others.

2.  Like tonight.  Please don't make me ask you to do the same thing more than once.

Please don't make mama feel like she's going crazy.

1.  Hmm.  Too late.  Pretty sure I lost my sanity years ago.

I'm looking for my sanity.  Have you seen it?

On My Mind

Yeah.

I am running behind today.

Shit happens.  Deal with it.  {God knows I have to. Heh.}

It is Tuesday.

And time for random thoughts.

Ready?

Here we go:

10.  Kaylee stayed home from school again today.  I am SO freaking ready for her to go to school.

9.  She is turning into a wench bag.  {She may or may not get that from me.  But you didn't hear that from me.  Heh.}

8.  I am turning into one of those people who bitch about the weather no matter what it is.

7.  Just wait til rainy season starts.

6.  I am trying to get shit done.  Unfortunately, I feel like I am being held back.

5.  I made my own version of mac & cheese last night.  It was YUMMY.

4.  I wish I had more of a chance to cook.  My MIL does 98% of the cooking.

3.  I could say something but then it might start an argument.  I don't want to waste my energy.  I am trying to focus on keeping the peace.

2.  I am trying to be upbeat and positive.

1.  That is easier said than done.  Seems like a big cloud of negative follows me wherever I go.
