School's Out for SUMMER!

I usually do a "Ten Thought Tuesday" post on Tuesdays.

Just not feeling it today.

Today has been the first full day of summer vacation.  So far?  So good.

Kaylee slept in late.  Til after noon.

Really.  She did.

She woke me up.

So I slept in late today too.  What?

I fixed her breakfast and let her watch a little TV.

I promised her last night that I would take her to the library today.

We got dressed and headed over to the library.  Being right across the street has its perks.

I helped Kaylee find a few books to keep her occupied for a few days.  Although as fast as she reads she will be done with them by Saturday.

She has moved out of the 'kids' section of the library and into the 'teens'.  I suggested the move since she was having trouble finding books.

People?  The teen section of the library?  Is full of vampire stories.  Every other book was vampire-ish.

Are you kidding me?  Is that what teenagers want to read about now a days?

Oh well.  Kaylee will pick and read what she wants to.  Yes, I trust her to make good decisions.

She is an advanced reader and I have no problem with her reading more 'adulty' type books.  She knows that if she has a question, she can ask and I will answer to the best of my abilities.

Afterwards, we went to the school playground and I let her run around and play.  Actually, I encouraged her to run around in the hopes of expelling huge amounts of energy and tiring her out.

I don't think it worked.  As I type this?  She is outside running around in the yard.

Hopefully when bedtime comes she will be so tired she won't argue about it.

I can dream, can't I?
