Summer is Here. Sort of. . .

Hey there.

How are things going?

I hope your summer is going well.

Ours just started.

Kaylee's last day was the 25th. This past Monday.

Today is Wednesday AND SHE IS ALREADY BORED!

Fuck.

It's promises to be a LONG summer break.

September can not get here soon enough.

I have plans.

I just can't seem to find the motivation to get up and do them.

I want to exercise more. More precise, I want to start a walking routine.

I walked almost two miles on Saturday. And haven't walked any since.

Hopefully I can find a way to get motivated.

OH. . .

I almost forgot.

During Kaylee's last full week of school, there was a talent show. To which Kaylee was a part of.

She sang.

Oh people, she sang her heart out.

I am SO very proud of her. She did something that I would not have had the guts to do.

I love her balls, I would of never done a talent contest either.
I think kids always start and end summer bored. They do tend find a niche in between though. My two middle kids are loving our libraries summer reading program.

I told her I didn't want to hear anything about being bored until at least the third week of summer break. 'Cause I'm mean like that.

I thought it was a teenager singing. A really talented teenager. But she's 9! I'm blown away.

Btw, I totally recommend walking. It has changed my life.

She's 10! And thank you! So proud of this girl of mine!

My biggest thing with walking, is I don't really know how to start. . . As in, how much do I start out walking? Do I go by distance or time? Should I keep my pace fast or slow or use a little of both?

So many questions.

And no motivation.

Sigh.

I started out by measuring time. Didn't pay attention to speed but after a few months I noticed that I was covering longer distances faster.

The motivation started when I got very angry one day, took a walk and realized how much better I felt afterwards... Now my husband & boy walk with me most days. I guess it helps them feel better too.

PS. Some days the motivation is an ice-cream or fast food. So I tell myself you'll only eat that if you walk there. (Our local Mc Dee is a convenient 1 hour round trip on foot. ;)
