She loves her husband. She loves her daughter.
It is the situation she is in that leaves her feeling less than.
She feels like a failure. She is in her thirties and has nothing to show for it. Why has she let the best years of her life waste away? A lifetime filled with what-ifs.
She pushes them down and forgets most days. There are times that she becomes so overwhelmed by them that they wash over her in a wave and leave her floating in sadness and regret.
It is those times that her thoughts are consumed by the what-if moments of her past.
She knows that they are only that . . . moments from the past. There is nothing she can do now to change what happened then.
She worries that she is not being a good example to her daughter. She tries to tell her to never settle. Never settle for less. Always strive for more.
Make something of yourself. Because she didn't and she regrets it ever so badly now.
She had dreams.
She had goals.
She fears it's too late for her now.
Too late to try and be something more than the less that she is. . .
