First Day Back

The day has finally arrived!

We have been counting down for a couple of weeks now.

It is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

I am doing the happy dance! 

On the outside.

But on the inside?  I am full of sad.

My baby is not a baby anymore.

She is now officially a Fourth Grader.


She no longer needs me to walk her to school.

Or pick her up.

She is strong-willed and independent.

She is going to ROCK her first day of school!

I have been sitting here trying not to cry.

She is so going to own this school year. I just know it.

I can already tell that by the time she starts high school? I will be a babbling idiot.

I'll cry along with you..the older your daughter is, the older my four are getting, three of who are pretty damned independent.

She was going to wear her hair down but it is supposed to be really hot today. So she decided on a ponytail instead.

I love that she is independent. Love it.

I know she still needs me for things but those days are getting fewer and fewer.

Sigh.

Oh, I just can't imagine how I'll be once mine are that big! I know I'll be sad EVERY year (maybe not so much once they're teens, we'll see). She's beautiful!
