OK. It wasn't that busy. But going to and from school 3 times yesterday made it seem busy to me.
We had Kaylee's P/T conference. Which went very well. She is doing well in all her subjects. Seems that her favorite thing to do is write stories. So much so that her teacher is researching and trying to find contests to enter Kaylee in. How freaking awesome is that??
I totally embarrassed myself at the beginning of the conference though.
I have been sick this whole week. Of course on conference day I feel like warmed over shit. I probably should have just let Randall go alone. But me being the awesome Mom that I am, got my shit together (fever and all) and got ready to go.
We sit down and I get this God awful dry tickle in my throat. I start coughing. I have no cough drop or hard candy to suck on so I hop up and run out of the room. I get a drink of water and continue to cough. I finally got myself under control and went back in the room. I was gone maybe two minutes. Kaylee's teacher and Randall both look at me. Randall asks if I am OK. Teach just looks at me like I am insane for even showing up in the condition that I am in.
The conference gets underway. I still have the stupid tickle in my throat. I cough 3 more times. Now Randall is looking at me like I am nuts. I think he may have been a little embarrassed himself.
I sit there and try to listen to what is being said all while fighting off the want and need to cough up a lung. I'm sure there was a moment where I may have looked like I was going to vomit. I was only trying to hold the cough in so as not to disrupt the conference anymore.
Our conference lasted a half hour. It was the longest half hour in history! I kept hoping it would be over and done with but Teach just kept talking.
Finally, the next scheduled conference showed up signaling the end of ours.
Yay!
So we left with me being embarrassed for spreading my germs and knowing that someone else sees that Kaylee is as awesome as we already knew she was!
Hope you have an awesome, embarrassment free weekend! ;)
